About The Position

This position serves as a member of the Maine DOT Property Office based out of Region 3 in Wilton, Maine. Primary responsibilities include conducting topographic, GPS, construction, and other survey work as part of a field crew. Additional responsibilities include research and acquisition of public and civil records, tracking and data entry of Property Owner Reports (PORs), and maintenance and calibration of survey equipment. Work requires the ability to use complex electronic survey equipment and related software, computer skills to process survey data, and perform editing tasks associated with research and data entry in Realty Management System (RMS). The incumbent may act as survey crew chief on an as-needed basis. This position requires attention to detail and a commitment to acquiring accurate survey and property information. Work will be conducted throughout the Western Region and at times performed under limited supervision. Preference will be given to those with prior survey experience.

Requirements

  • Five (5) years of experience in engineering –OR- an Associate Degree in Engineering or a related technical field and three (3) years of experience in engineering -OR- a Bachelors Degree in Engineering or a related technical field and one (1) year of experience in engineering.
