This includes Manufacturing and Supply Chain support across all Blue Origin facilities. As part of a small, passionate and accomplished team, you will oversee and supervise the men and women who fabricate, manufacture, and integrate new engine and component test facilities as well as executing capital upgrades to existing engine and component test facilities. By leading this highly skilled team of technicians, this position will directly influence the history of space exploration and will require your dedicated commitment and detailed attention towards safe and repeatable spaceflight. Requirements

  • 5+ years of hands-on experience in aerospace, oil and gas, or other related industries working hazardous, pressurized systems.
  • 2+ years in a supervisory, managerial, or lead role
  • Demonstrated ability to lead and work directly with technicians.
  • Ability to earn trust, maintain positive and professional relationships, and contribute to the team’s culture
  • Experience in fabrication, assembly, changes, and/or maintenance of safety critical pressurized systems.
  • Ability to closely follow P&ID drawings and provide feedback on component layout for manufacturing and maintenance operations.
  • Ability to work in adverse weather conditions.
  • Proficient computer skills and MS Office

Nice To Haves

  • 10+ years of hands-on experience in aerospace, oil and gas, or other related industries working hazardous, pressure systems.
  • 5+ years in a supervisory, managerial, or lead role
  • Exceptional organizational and analytical skills
  • Broad scheduling and planning skillset.

  • Proven ability to drive complex projects with minimal oversight.
  • Two-year technical or AS degree.
  • A continuous improvement mindset with ability to recommend solutions to help develop effective maintenance, integration and testing procedures.

Responsibilities

  • Work with Ground System Development engineering to execute the daily schedule based on the two-week forecast and construction schedules.
  • Lead the pre-shift briefings, align skillsets and experience to complete daily tasks.
  • Re-schedule or plan for recovery of items not completed in the daily assignment.
  • Delegate the daily tasks to technicians given their experience and technical levels.
  • Ensure team is properly staffed for daily operations.
  • Perform beginning, middle, and end of shift stand walk-downs and worksite check-ins.
  • Provide technical input to technicians as needed.
  • Administrative duties will include approval of timecards, tracking of time, and personnel scheduling.
  • Complete performance reviews of technicians and lead interviews to build and supplement the immediate team.
  • Track and execute continued training plans and skills development for team members.
  • Lead efforts to maximize fabrication and integration efficiency for new and existing test facilities.
  • Oversee external contractors performing work on the facilities to ensure work is safely and properly executed to internal/external standards.
  • Provide manufacturing and integration feedback to engineering to ensure systems designed are manufacturable and maintainable.
  • Ensure engineering instructions are correct and complete for safe operation for technicians performing the work
  • Safely work around cryogens, hazardous chemicals, and high-pressure systems.
  • Oversee technicians provide the proper guidance to ensure safe operations at the facility.
  • Monitor team purchases for budget management for the team’s purchased items.
  • Maintain the highest standards and work practices for all work being performed
