About The Position

Weyerhaeuser's Western Timberlands Division has an opening for a full-time truck driver/equipment operator, with duties performed in an aircraft hangar as well as a forest environment. In addition to supporting equipment maintenance, you will have responsibilities related to helicopter projects during all seasons of the year. Our helicopters support company timberlands/forestry operations in Oregon and Washington under FAR Part 91, 133 and 137, focusing primarily on stewardship of timberlands through fire suppression, fertilization, spraying and forestry recon. Our helicopter operation is supported by company personnel, including pilots, aircraft mechanics and aviation ground support technicians. Although most projects are within the local area, applicants must be willing to do occasional overnight travel while working on flight operations away from the main base. Some projects do require weekend work. Between projects, helicopters and equipment are maintained at the company hangars located in McMinnville, Oregon, Eugene, Oregon, and Chehalis, Washington.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma/GED (or higher)
  • Minimum 1-year Class B CDL driving experience
  • Valid Fuel Truck operator class B CDL with a Hazmat Endorsement
  • Current DOT medical card
  • Driving record clear of current incidents/citations
  • Safety-conscious mindset with commitment to adhere to all the safety procedures and practices
  • Ability to work with pesticides and willing to obtain a state pesticide license (Private)
  • Personal commitment to safety, supporting our team flying concept
  • Able to assist industry leading aircraft maintenance technicians with non-aircraft maintenance work
  • Successful completion of a post-offer drug screening and background check

Nice To Haves

  • Class A CDL with tanker/Hazmat endorsement
  • Off road timberland driving experience
  • Experience operating various pieces of trucking and loading equipment
  • Experience fueling aircraft including pressure fueling systems
  • Current State of Oregon & Washington private pesticide license

Responsibilities

  • Perform and support equipment inspections and participate in preventative maintenance and routine maintenance repairs as they develop in a hanger and field environment.
  • Safely and efficiently operate a front-end loader to load buckets of granular fertilizer under a hovering helicopter while adhering to safety, environmental, production and quality standards.
  • Drive a fuel truck to work sites and fuel a helicopter during flight operations.
  • Drive a batch truck and mix/load pesticides into the helicopter.

  • Compensation: This role is eligible for our annual merit-increase program, and we are targeting a salary range of $54,118 - $81,248 based on your level of skills, qualifications and experience. You will also be eligible for our Annual Incentive Program, which offers a cash bonus targeting 5%25 of base pay. Potential plan funding may range from zero to two times that target.
