About The Position

As a Ground Support Engineer, you will play a critical role in the design, development, and implementation of ground support equipment (GSE) and tooling used in the integration, assembly, and testing of spaceflight hardware. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in mechanical design, proficiency in Creo, and experience developing support equipment for aerospace applications. This position offers a unique opportunity to contribute to the success of lunar and space missions by ensuring the reliability and efficiency of ground support operations.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or a related field.
  • 3-7 years of experience in mechanical design, with a focus on GSE, tooling, or test support equipment.
  • Proficiency in Creo (PTC Creo Parametric) for 3D modeling and drafting.
  • Experience with fabrication techniques, materials selection, and manufacturing processes.
  • Familiarity with aerospace assembly, integration, and testing procedures.
  • Knowledge of mechanical analysis techniques, including FEA (Finite Element Analysis).
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work in a fast-paced environment.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in spacecraft, launch vehicle, or aerospace GSE development.
  • Understanding of mechanisms, hydraulics, pneumatics, and electromechanical systems.
  • Familiarity with industry standards such as NASA, ASME, and ASTM regulations.
  • Hands-on experience with assembly, integration, and test operations.

Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and implement ground support equipment (GSE) and specialized tools for spacecraft assembly, integration, and testing.
  • Utilize Creo to create detailed 3D CAD models, drawings, and engineering documentation.
  • Collaborate closely with AI&T, Systems Engineering, and Manufacturing teams to ensure equipment meets mission requirements.
  • Perform structural and thermal analyses of GSE components to ensure durability and safety.
  • Support the fabrication, assembly, and validation of designed tools and equipment.
  • Develop test procedures and operational instructions for GSE use in spaceflight hardware testing and handling.
  • Troubleshoot and optimize existing GSE designs based on test results and field performance.
  • Ensure compliance with aerospace industry standards, safety regulations, and company policies.
  • Provide hands-on support during assembly, integration, and testing activities.
