About The Position

At Shield AI, we’re building advanced autonomous aircraft that are redefining what is possible. We are seeking a Metrology Engineering Technician to help ensure that every component meets the highest standards of quality. What you'll do: In this role, you will program and operate Coordinate Measurement Machines (CMMs) and other advanced metrology equipment to perform dimensional inspections of aerospace components. You will verify that all measurements meet drawing requirements, GD&T specifications, and AS9100 quality standards. You will provide end-to-end metrology support, from new product introduction through routine inspections and root cause investigations, playing a key role in the development and delivery of cutting-edge aircraft systems. This is an opportunity to work hands-on with next-generation technology and contribute directly to the safety, performance, and reliability of aircraft shaping the future of aviation.

Requirements

  • Experience as a CMM programmer, Quality Engineering Technician, or similar role within a machine shop or manufacturing environment
  • Experience with Hexagon PC-DMIS, or Polyworks software
  • Strong knowledge of manufacturing processes, including machining, assembly, and quality control systems
  • Proficient in using a variety of precision measuring hand tools (micrometers, calibers, pin gages etc)
  • Experience with Quality Management Systems (ISO 9001, AS9100)
