How Will You Make an Impact? As a CMM Technician at our Auburn Hills, MI facility , you will ensure dimensional accuracy and product quality through precise inspection activities. You will operate and program Coordinate Measuring Machines (CMM) to evaluate manufactured components, analyze inspection data, and support manufacturing and engineering teams in resolving quality issues. Your expertise will directly support product compliance, process improvement, and customer satisfaction. Location: On‑site at our Auburn Hills, MI facility.

Requirements

  • Technical training, associate degree, or equivalent hands‑on experience preferred.
  • Proven experience operating and programming CMM equipment , preferably in a manufacturing environment.
  • Proficiency with PC‑DMIS or comparable CMM programming software.
  • Strong ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and GD&T .
  • Experience performing FAI, QA inspections, and in‑process quality inspections .
  • Solid data analysis skills with the ability to interpret measurement results.
  • Demonstrated independent decision‑making and problem‑solving capabilities.
  • Highly organized, detail‑oriented, and committed to maintaining an orderly work area.
  • Strong self‑management, time‑management, and self‑motivation skills.
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a manufacturing environment.

Responsibilities

  • Operate and program Coordinate Measuring Machines (CMM) using PC‑DMIS software to perform automated inspections.
  • Interpret engineering drawings and blueprints to determine inspection requirements and develop inspection plans.
  • Perform First Article Inspections (FAI) and in‑process quality control inspections on parts and assemblies.
  • Analyze inspection results to identify trends, deviations, and potential quality concerns.
  • Collaborate with Engineering, Quality, and Production teams to resolve measurement discrepancies and improve processes.
  • Maintain accurate inspection records, reports, and related quality documentation.
  • Apply independent judgment to troubleshoot CMM programs, inspection challenges, and measurement issues.
  • Maintain an organized, clean, and efficient inspection area that supports workplace safety and efficiency.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
