JOB SUMMARY: Under the direction of the Hot Press Lead, the Hot Press Technician is responsible for the maintenance, setup, and operation of the hot presses and powder preparation equipment ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned. Following production orders and supervisor/manager instructions, weighs out and prepares materials for hot pressing. Keeps records of all hot press operations Develops with Process Engineer, procedures for processing new materials Cleans and evaluates hot pressed parts Maintain equipment; perform preventive maintenance as scheduled Maintains supplies necessary for the operation and maintenance of all hot presses and powder preparation equipment. Process all necessary paperwork to include, labor data entry, and inventory records Follow all clean-up and housekeeping procedures. Comply with all quality, safety, and work rules and regulations. PROTECTIVE CLOTHING REQUIRED: Requires the use of safety glasses, safety shoes, a respirator, and protective clothing such as a uniform or lab coat. Other, more specialized protective gear may be required occasionally. QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Requirements

  • Requires high school diploma or equivalent plus one year of industrial training and three to twelve months related experience to become familiar with equipment and processes.
  • Ability to read and comprehend basic instructions and short correspondence.
  • Ability to write standard documentation.
  • Ability to communicate with other employees to share information and solve problems.
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, divide and convert in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
  • Ability to compute percent.
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
  • Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
  • Requires the ability to operate the department equipment to include, but not limited to hot presses, turbula blender and rotap.
  • Ability to operate a computer.
  • Requires the use of safety glasses, safety shoes, a respirator, and protective clothing such as a uniform or lab coat.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with SAP preferred not required.
