JOB SUMMARY: Under the direction of the Hot Press Lead, the Hot Press Technician is responsible for the maintenance, setup, and operation of the hot presses and powder preparation equipment ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned. Following production orders and supervisor/manager instructions, weighs out and prepares materials for hot pressing. Keeps records of all hot press operations Develops with Process Engineer, procedures for processing new materials Cleans and evaluates hot pressed parts Maintain equipment; perform preventive maintenance as scheduled Maintains supplies necessary for the operation and maintenance of all hot presses and powder preparation equipment. Process all necessary paperwork to include, labor data entry, and inventory records Follow all clean-up and housekeeping procedures. Comply with all quality, safety, and work rules and regulations. PROTECTIVE CLOTHING REQUIRED: Requires the use of safety glasses, safety shoes, a respirator, and protective clothing such as a uniform or lab coat. Other, more specialized protective gear may be required occasionally. Requirements
- Requires high school diploma or equivalent plus one year of industrial training and three to twelve months related experience to become familiar with equipment and processes.
- Ability to read and comprehend basic instructions and short correspondence.
- Ability to write standard documentation.
- Ability to communicate with other employees to share information and solve problems.
- Ability to add, subtract, multiply, divide and convert in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
- Ability to compute percent.
- Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
- Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
- Requires the ability to operate the department equipment to include, but not limited to hot presses, turbula blender and rotap.
- Ability to operate a computer.
- Requires the use of safety glasses, safety shoes, a respirator, and protective clothing such as a uniform or lab coat.
- The selection of the person to be hired for this position is contingent on the candidate having export compliance eligibility for access to U.S. controlled technology which comes under the licensing jurisdiction of the U.S. Department of State, International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) and the U.S. Department of Commerce, Export Administration Regulations (EAR). The candidate selected will have to qualify as either a U.S. citizen, a U.S. National, a lawful permanent resident of the U.S., a Person Admitted into the U.S. as an Asylee or Refugee., a National of a country that is not prohibited from having access to U.S. controlled technology (via a letter of assurance), or a Person to be approved for an export license by the governing agency whose technology comes under its jurisdiction.
