About The Position

The Health Screener Technician works under the direction of the Director of Nursing and Student Health Services as a screening technician to provide health screenings for students ECE through grade 12. Requirements

  • High School Diploma/GED is required
  • The ability to take responsibility for one’s own performance
  • Ability to interact positively with students, health service staff, teachers and others
  • Ability to work in a multi-ethnic and multi-cultural environment with district and school leaders, staff, parents and students
  • Work collaboratively with others on a team
  • Effective communication skills both verbally and in writing
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Effectively handle multiple demands and competing deadlines
  • Comfort using computers and other technology
  • Aptitude for variety and changing expectations and fast-paced environment
  • High degree of integrity in handling confidential information

Nice To Haves

  • Associate's Degree in Health Care, Education or a related field is preferred

Responsibilities

  • Conduct health screenings on students using appropriate procedures and equipment
  • Enter and maintain appropriate documentation of screening results in student health records
  • Create and disseminate lists of students in need of additional follow up
  • Act as a liaison to school nurses and other school staff to support the screening process
  • Work collaboratively as part of the screening team
  • Perform other duties as assigned
