About The Position

We are looking for 2X Technician(s)-Electrical Control to carry out engineering assignments relating to process control. Assisting engineers on larger, complex assignments or works independently on less complex assignments impacting multiple sectors of site. This role is an opportunity for a highly motivated individual who Applies practical and non-theoretical knowledge of products, techniques and processes gained by on-the-job experience and technical qualification. Reporting to Superintendent, Tailings Technician you will be responsible for:

Requirements

  • A bachelor's degree in engineering (Electrical preferred), or 3 years of equivalent experience
  • 2+ years of experience in engineering maintenance roles
  • An ability to work collaboratively in a small team
  • Demonstrated experience in delivering continuous improvement initiatives and projects
  • Experience with Defect Elimination processes and Root Cause Analysis methodology
  • Experience with failure analysis.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience working in a fixed plant environment
  • Demonstrated knowledge of SAP or equivalent CMMS
  • Lean Six Sigma methodology experience or Black Belt Certification
  • Experience in Tailings

Responsibilities

  • Monitoring instruments and equipment and collecting process control data including calibration, inspection, testing, etc. to assist in making on-line adjustments to instruments, equipment or products.
  • Analyzing and resolving malfunctions and deviations of instruments and control systems to identify and resolve complex problems.
  • Serving as a second or third level of assistance to resolve problems where previous attempts did not succeed.
  • Conducting analyses and preparing reports using metrics from salvage tracking, trending, reporting and root cause analyses.
  • Improving process designs to optimize process and facility use while conforming to standard operating procedures and good manufacturing practices.
  • Coordinating technicians assigned to projects.
