About The Position

Genesis Energy, LLC is an affiliate of Genesis Energy, L.P., a publicly traded, master limited partnership headquartered in Houston, Texas. The company provides critical pipeline infrastructure supporting long-lived, world-class developments in the Gulf of America, operates Jones Act compliant marine transportation equipment, produces and markets specialty chemicals, and manages an integrated portfolio of onshore crude oil pipelines and terminals along the Gulf Coast. This position is responsible for a variety of tasks involved in troubleshooting, testing, maintaining, installing, repairing, and operating corrosion control equipment for crude oil pipelines, ensuring the integrity of the pipeline system and compliance with regulatory standards.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED
  • 3 years’ experience in cathodic protection
  • NACE certification; CP-1 Cathodic Protection Tester
  • Must be a self-starter, responsible and able to work with very limited supervision
  • Must be familiar with all local, state and federal regulations
  • Proficient with Microsoft suite products, Word, Excel, and Outlook
  • Must be capable of supervising outside contractors
  • May require some travel
  • Valid driver’s license with a good driving record
  • Adhere to applicable D.O.T. regulations and/or is considered a Safety Sensitive position, and as such, is subject to pre-employment and random Drug and Alcohol testing

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for a variety of tasks involved in troubleshooting, testing, maintaining, installing, repairing, and operating corrosion control equipment for crude oil pipelines.
  • Conducts surveys and tests, gathers data and prepares reports to maintain the integrity of the pipeline system.
  • Maintains the required documentation for regulatory compliance.
  • Works with corrosion engineers to assure the pipeline system is operating at the required standards.
  • Responsible for meeting the performance training requirements as set by the Company and local/federal agencies.
  • Supervise outside contractors performing work on the pipeline system.
  • Promptly reports any suspected or potential problem areas to local Pipeline Manager.
  • Maintains a knowledge and awareness of local, state and federal regulations and advises management of any impact.
  • Successfully complete OQ (Operator Qualifications) training on the tasks performed.
  • Participates in and promotes the Company’s safety program to coworkers.
