Under general supervision, this position involves maintaining a safe working environment and following all Safety, Health, and Environmental policies, procedures, and requirements. The role includes planning and performing duties related to testing, evaluation, and installation of cathodic protection (CP) systems to inhibit corrosion on various structures. This encompasses installing and repairing anodes and reference cells, gathering structure-to-soil potential data, soil measurements, and rectifier data. The technician will also be responsible for repairing and replacing defective components on rectifiers, RMU devices, repairing chemical-injection treatment devices, and performing corrosion-coupon changes/inspections as needed. Gas and liquid sampling for internal corrosion monitoring are also key duties. The position requires organizing and reducing gathered data, preparing charts and tables for final client reports, including service recommendations, and maintaining records such as annual level of protection, quarterly readings, rectifier logbooks, and test station alignments. Additionally, the role involves performing atmospheric corrosion monitoring surveys, documenting deficiencies, reporting them to management, and field monitoring of atmospheric corrosion repairs to ensure alignment with company standards.
