About The Position

What You Should Know About the Technician- AR Collections:Monday- Friday: Typical hours 8:00- 4:30. No weekends or call.This position is based within Jefferson Regional Patient Accounting Department Job Summary:The Technician for A/R Collections monitors assigned accounts to insure that payments are received and takes appropriate action when there are issues with collecting such as billing errors or delinquent payment. This role will interact with patients, insurance personnel, and other third party payers.

Requirements

• High School diploma or equivalent required.
• Minimum of 1-year office experience
• Exhibit good communication skills both written and verbal
• Must have PC/Computer training or experience with computers
• Ability to draft business letters using word processing applications
• Ability to use spreadsheets in Microsoft excel
• Strong analytical, problem solving, and organizational skills
• Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines in a fast paced environment

Nice To Haves

• Associate Degree in Business, Healthcare Administration, or other related field preferred.
• Minimum of 1-2 years experience with medical billing, collections, and accounts receivable preferably in a physician network or healthcare setting
• Familiarity with healthcare insurance plans, claim submission, and follow up processes
