Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in science or relevant field, from an accredited college or university preferred
  • 2+ years of experience in directly related experience
  • Proficient computer knowledge of Microsoft Suite Outlook, Word and especially Excel
  • Proficient computer knowledge of Altium and Solidworks
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as emails, reports and correspondence
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Strong organizational skills, strict attention to details and ability to multitask and prioritize as necessary
  • Ability to apply common sense, understand and carry out instructions furnished in writing or oral
  • Ability to problem solve and provide solutions
  • Must work well in a team environment and independently

Responsibilities

  • Research, writes, edits and proofreads aviation technical data for use in documents or sections of documents such as manuals, procedures and specifications
  • Ensures technical documentation is accurate, complete, meets editorial and government specifications and adheres to standards for quality, graphics, coverage, format and style
  • Assists in establishing style guidelines and standards for texts and illustrations
  • Retrieves, organizes, analyzes and synthesizes subject matter and transforms it into easy-to-understand information
  • Creates or revises hardware or software product documentation, which includes installation, operation and maintenance instructions and other technical publications such as technical advisories and release notes
  • Performs work under general supervision
  • Handles moderately complex issues and problems and refers more complex issues to higher-level staff
  • Other duties as assigned
