About The Position

As a Technical Content Writer at Odoo, you will develop in-depth and accurate technical content across various marketing pipelines, including technical documentation, product tours, eLearning, microcontent, and whitepapers. This role emphasizes technical writing, requiring a strong understanding of complex technical information to effectively communicate the value of Odoo's integrated suite of business applications to customers and partners worldwide.

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience in Writing, Communications, Computer Science, or a related field.
• 1+ year of experience in technical writing, focusing on business applications or software platforms.
• A portfolio of writing samples that demonstrate technical documentation skills.
• Experience with technical documentation, specifically within ERP or SaaS environments.
• Proficiency with Git/GitHub or similar version control systems, or a willingness to learn.
• Ability to handle multiple projects and meet deadlines in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.

Nice To Haves

• Experience documenting business applications such as system integrations or scheduling systems.
• Familiarity with technical settings like system configurations and user permissions.
• Knowledge of or interest in emerging technologies like VoIP, IoT, or communication platform integrations.
• Proficiency in multiple languages.
• A/V experience.

Responsibilities

• Work cross-functionally with R&D, product, technical, and content marketing staff to stay updated on Odoo features and capabilities.
• Ensure accurate knowledge is provided to customers across various communication channels, including technical documentation and video tutorials.
• Review content and adapt best practices from Odoo's marketing team in Belgium for US audiences.
• Write long-form technical guides, whitepapers, eLearning scripts, and product tour videos.
• Write scripts for short video tutorials to educate new users and demonstrate business flows.
• Independently author technical support and documentation articles and revise content from multiple contributors.
• Read and write in RST markup and submit new/revised documentation content using Git.
• Perform content and technical reviews using GitHub.
• Manage projects independently using Odoo Project and follow the yearly content calendar.
