About The Position

As Technical Writer , you’ll support mission-critical communications and network operations by producing clear, accurate documentation for complex technical environments, with the goal of making an impact across the federal government. Our engineering and network operations team is responsible for designing, operating, and securing critical systems that enable mission execution, and you’ll transform operational knowledge into actionable artifacts that drive secure execution, accelerate onboarding, and ensure continuity of operations across the enterprise. Requirements

  • Active Top Secret security clearance with SCI eligibility required.
  • 3+ years of experience producing technical documentation in support of IT, cybersecurity, engineering, or systems integration programs.
  • Bachelor’s degree in English, Technical Communication, Information Systems, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field is preferred. Relevant experience may substitute for education requirements.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop clear, accurate, and well-structured technical documentation, including system documentation, runbooks, as-built documentation, operational guides, standard operating procedures, and technical manuals.
  • Hands-on experience working directly with engineers, cybersecurity staff, system administrators, and program stakeholders to gather technical information and translate it into consumable documentation.
  • Proven experience documenting complex technical systems, architectures, processes, or workflows in regulated or mission-critical environments.
  • Hands-on experience authoring and maintaining controlled documentation on Government networks.
  • Direct experience using Jira to track documentation tasks and coordinate with technical teams.
  • Hands-on experience authoring and maintaining documentation in Confluence, including structured knowledge bases and controlled documentation spaces.
  • Experience supporting documentation workflows within ServiceNow.
  • Strong proficiency with Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and document version control.
  • Ability to contribute immediately with minimal ramp-up in a mission-critical operational environment.

Responsibilities

  • Partner directly with Network Engineers and technical SMEs to document systems and processes
  • Develop and maintain SOPs, runbooks, and operational guides
  • Capture architecture diagrams, workflows, and technical dependencies
  • Support transition-in documentation and knowledge transfer efforts
  • Ensure documentation aligns with security, operational, and customer expectations
  • Maintain version control and documentation repositories
  • Proactively identify documentation gaps that impact mission readiness
