About The Position

We are seeking an experienced Technical Writer with strong S1000D expertise to develop, manage, and maintain structured technical documentation for complex systems. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience creating S1000D-compliant data modules and working closely with engineering, logistics, and program teams in regulated environments such as aerospace, defense, or advanced manufacturing.

Requirements

• Due to Government Contract all viable candidates must be US Citizens with an active US Security Clearance or US Citizens with the ability to obtain a US Security Clearance
• 4+ years technical writing experience
• S1000D experience

Responsibilities

• Develop, author, and maintain S1000D-compliant technical documentation, including data modules, illustrations, and publications
• Apply S1000D business rules, BREX, and CSDB requirements across technical manuals and deliverables
• Collaborate with engineers, SMEs, and program managers to gather technical data and translate it into clear, accurate documentation
• Create and manage structured content using XML authoring tools and content management systems
• Ensure documentation aligns with customer, regulatory, and contractual requirements
• Support configuration management, version control, and change tracking for technical publications
• Review, edit, and validate content for accuracy, consistency, and compliance
• Participate in documentation planning, reviews, and audits
