About The Position

KION is seeking a highly motivated and experienced technical writer to join our team. This technical writing role transforms complex data and information for automation & robotics into high‑quality, technical information that supports both human learning and AI-based applications. Working closely with engineer and product teams, the position delivers audience‑specific, globally aligned content that strengthens product understanding, reduces support costs, and accelerates knowledge transfer across the organization. The base pay range for this role is estimated to be $57,375 - $84,150 at the time of posting. Final compensation will be determined by various factors such as work location, education, experience, knowledge, and skills. Tasks and Qualifications:

Requirements

1-3 years of Technical Writing experience
Clear, concise technical writing and editing skills
Familiarity with structured content tools or willingness to learn
Attention to detail and consistency in terminology and formatting
Collaboration and communication with cross functional teams
Experience in crafting technical or product documentation from engineering data or SME input within automotive, robotics or other engineering & software development environments
Hands on experience using authoring or content management tools
Experience collaborating with engineers or cross functional teams to capture and validate information
Exposure to global content needs, including translation or localization workflows
Bachelor’s degree in Technical Communications, Engineering, or a related field, equivalent experience may be substituted.
Foundational knowledge of technical writing principles or structured content practices through coursework, internships, or professional experience.
Certification in technical communication or content development
Physical requirements ( i.e. must be able to safely enter and move around production facilities)
This is a global role which requires collaboration with engineers in North America, APAC and EMEA regions

Create, maintain & distribute technical information
Assemble (and provide) content as audience-specific deliverables within requirements, branding and language frameworks
Translate or localize content within standards scope / requirements
Collaborate with engineers, product teams, and information architects to validate content, resolve gaps, and ensure quality across outputs
