About The Position

DecisionPoint Corporation is seeking a Technical Writer to support our U.S. Transportation Command (USTRANSCOM) Integrated Booking System (IBS) program. This role is responsible for developing, maintaining, and managing technical documentation that supports system operations, development, and compliance for mission-critical transportation and logistics systems.The Technical Writer will work closely with developers, engineers, cybersecurity personnel, and program leadership to produce clear, accurate, and comprehensive documentation. This includes system documentation, user guides, standard operating procedures (SOPs), and artifacts required for compliance with DoD standards.The ideal candidate brings strong writing and organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to translate complex technical concepts into clear and usable documentation.

Requirements

  • Active Secret Clearance
  • IAT Level II certification (CompTIA Security+ CE preferred)
  • Minimum 3+ years of experience in technical writing or related field
  • Experience developing and maintaining technical and/or system documentation
  • Strong writing, editing, and communication skills
  • Ability to understand and document technical concepts and processes
  • Experience working with documentation tools and repositories (e.g., Confluence, SharePoint, or similar)
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills

Nice To Haves

  • Experience supporting DoD programs or government contracts
  • Familiarity with RMF documentation and compliance artifacts
  • Experience working with software development or IT systems
  • Experience with Agile environments
  • Familiarity with tools such as Jira and Confluence
  • Experience supporting audit readiness or compliance documentation (FISCAM/FIAR)

Responsibilities

  • Develop, edit, and maintain technical documentation, including system documentation, user guides, and SOPs
  • Collaborate with technical teams to gather information and ensure documentation accuracy
  • Create and maintain documentation supporting system architecture, data flows, and processes
  • Support development and maintenance of RMF and compliance-related documentation (e.g., SSPs, procedures, artifacts)
  • Maintain version control and organization of documentation repositories
  • Ensure documentation aligns with program standards, templates, and Government requirements
  • Translate complex technical information into clear, concise, and user-friendly content
  • Support documentation for software releases, deployments, and configuration changes
  • Assist with preparation of materials for audits, reviews, and program deliverables
  • Review and update documentation to reflect system changes and enhancements
  • Coordinate with Configuration Management to ensure documentation is properly controlled and maintained
  • Support development of training materials and knowledge transfer documentation
