The candidate will be a member of the Global Sustainment Technical Publications team supporting Rotary and Mission System programs in Liverpool, NY.

Requirements

  • Bachelors degree from an accredited college in a related discipline, or equivalent experience/combined education, with 3 years of professional experience; or 1 year of professional experience with a related Masters degree.
  • Must demonstrate strong interpersonal, written, and oral communication skills.
  • Demonstrate ability to work independently and as part of a team, including virtual teams, as required.
  • Ability to author technical content for procedure manuals, services manuals, and related technical publications that describe installation, operation and maintenance of electronic, electrical, mechanical, and other equipment.
  • Ability to author technical content that adheres to required standards, style guidance, contract requirements, and using clear and concise language.
  • Ability to meet deadlines and quality standards.
  • Familiar with structured authoring and XML authoring tools.
  • Ability to obtain a Secret clearance required

Nice To Haves

  • Experience authoring to military standards, especially 40051-2C and S1000D.
  • Experience with XML authoring tools, such as ArborText.

Responsibilities

  • Write, rewrite and/or edit technical documents such as Integrated Electronic Technical Manuals (IETMs), technical procedure manuals, user manuals, programming manuals, service manuals, operational specifications, and related technical publications to communicate clearly and effectively technical specifications and instructions to a wide range of audiences.
  • Acquire subject knowledge by interviewing product developers and engineers, observing performance of production methods, gathering data from technical specifications, design documentation, software interfaces and specifications, assembly illustrations, and schematics.
  • Support IETM/Technical Manual validations and verifications by collecting redlines and updating content as required.
  • Participate in project team meetings and meet deadlines with support of team lead.
