About The Position

Ping Identity is seeking a Technical Writer to join our extraordinary documentation team. Reporting to one of the technical documentation managers, you'll be working on technical content within a Docs-as-Code environment. You will: Collaborate with subject matter experts, engineers, and product teams (both in person and remotely) to define, design, create, and maintain core administrator documentation. Collaborate effectively with a globally distributed team and stakeholders across various time zones. Deliver clear, concise, and user-friendly documentation, catering specifically to the needs of identity and access management (IAM) administrators configuring, managing and using the product. Investigate, research, and learn Ping Identity products, along with the standards they depend on, to ensure accurate and comprehensive documentation. Translate complex technical concepts related to authorization into clear and concise documentation for an administrator audience. Work with AsciiDoc in a Docs-as-Code authoring and publishing environment using IntelliJ IDE and Git (GitHub). Follow the software development lifecycle closely to anticipate and ascertain documentation needs.

Requirements

  • 2-4+ years of technical writing experience.
  • Proven experience documenting complex software, with a strong preference for IAM applications or security products.
  • Experience managing multiple tickets simultaneously, meeting deadlines and quality standards.
  • Ability to quickly learn evolving features and complex software by navigating early-stage development environments.
  • Prior experience or exposure to software development.
  • Experience with Jira and Confluence or similar project management platforms.
  • Strong understanding of the needs and workflows of technical administrators.

Nice To Haves

  • Creating content in a docs-as-code environment, such as AsciiDoc, and GitHub experience.
  • Building, installing, configuring, and debugging client and server software.
  • Working with Ping Identity products.
  • Writing for a technical audience, including system administrators and configuration managers.
