About The Position

The Technical Editor/Writer (TECW) supports the creation, refinement, and management of technical documentation for HM&E cybersecurity systems and related Navy programs. This role leads the development, editing, and quality assurance of manuals, diagrams, procedures, and other artifacts essential for system understanding and lifecycle sustainment. Working closely with engineering teams, the Technical Editor/Writer ensures all documentation meets Navy and USCG standards, aligns with program requirements, and supports effective communication across stakeholders. The position also contributes to the preparation of test plans, reports, and program review materials while adhering to all security, quality, and accessibility requirements.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in any field.
  • Minimum of three (3) years of professional experience in technical writing and editing.
  • Minimum of one (1) year of experience editing technical documentation specifically for the U.S. Navy or U.S. Coast Guard (USCG).
  • CSWF Certification (IAT Level I):
  • CompTIA A+
  • CompTIA Network+
  • CompTIA Security+
  • GIAC Security Essentials (GSEC)
  • Strong technical writing and editing skills with familiarity in Navy/USCG documentation standards, formats, and review processes.
  • Ability to translate complex engineering information into clear, accurate, and user-friendly documentation.
  • Experience collaborating with multidisciplinary engineering teams to gather, validate, and structure technical information.
  • Proficiency with office productivity tools and configuration management/document repositories such as SharePoint.
  • Capability to produce high-quality deliverables including manuals, diagrams, test plans, test reports, and SOPs.
  • Excellent organizational, communication, and document version control skills
  • Ability to work effectively remotely in cross-functional teams.
  • Ability to meet deadlines and produce quality work.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Suite software including Outlook, Word, Excel, SharePoint, and PowerPoint.
  • U.S. Citizenship with the ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret clearance.
