About The Position

Are you ready to create technical documentation that educates a technical audience and answers questions about product features for Amazon and our Customers? As a Technical Writer at Amazon, you will create content and improve existing content that benefits Amazon’s customers. In this role, you will learn to understand customers’ needs through collaboration and planning. You will work alongside senior leaders to test, verify, and adapt working scripts and procedures that demonstrate how to use technical products. As a Technical writer, you will be responsible for having a strong written and verbal communication skills. You will utilize customer-centric writing, design, and research methodologies. You will be assessed on your ability to communicate project status to your manager and stake holders on a regular basis. Requirements

Bachelor's degree or above in Technical Writing, Design, Human-Centered Interaction, Psychology, Computer Science, or other related discipline
Are 18 years of age or older
Work 40 hours/week minimum and commit to 12 week internship maximum
Experience writing high-quality technical content for technical audiences (e.g., engineers, developers, scientists)
Experience writing content that is clear, well-organized, and grammatically correct
Have at least two writing samples or projects, demonstrating past experience and deliverables of writing samples (website, link, reports, portfolio, etc.)
Are enrolled in a academic program that is physically located in the United States
Applicants should have a minimum of one quarter/semester/trimester remaining in their studies after their internship concludes.

Nice To Haves

Knowledge of UX and/or CX design and usability
Experience interpreting technical drawings, diagrams, and flow charts
Experience working with style guides
Previous technical writing internship(s) or work experience, if applicable.

Responsibilities

Plan, create, test, maintain, and deliver documentation for technical audience (e.g., concepts, scripts, sample code, technical procedures).
Manage and deliver content for difficult technical projects as well as oversee all aspects of the process and workflow from writing through editing, technical review, build and publishing, successfully managing project’s lifecycle.
Be a passionate advocate for your customer.
Proactively increase customer satisfaction with the product.
