Position is responsible for creating and revising technical documents that support the production and marketing of capital, service, and consumable products. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, researching, writing and editing technical documentation, and utilizing structured authoring tools as well as desktop publishing and graphics software and hardware.

  • Proofread and localize technical content for capital products including technical data sheets, uncrating instructions, installation instructions, operator manuals, maintenance manuals, etc.
  • Work within the PLM (Product Lifecycle Management) system to create translation packages and effect changes as needed for content.
  • Work with cross-functional teams and vendors to implement translation which affect technical publications.
  • Manage change requests within the PLM system as needed.
  • Proofread documents for readability, grammatical accuracy, consistency with corporate standards, and completeness.
  • Obtain formal approvals for documents as required using proper corporate and group procedures.
  • Responsible for self-direction in scheduling workload and prioritizing tasks.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by designated personnel.
  • Bachelor's Degree in Linguistics, English, Communications, Technical Writing, or a related field with at least 1 year of relevant experience.
  • Demonstrated excellence in written and verbal communication skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate technical concepts to various audiences in clear, concise language.
  • Demonstrated ability to work well with others and to take initiative in advancing projects towards completion.
  • Demonstrated ability to read and absorb complex details quickly, work effectively against deadline pressures and handle a number of projects simultaneously.
  • Excellent organizational skills.
  • Experience in industrial graphics and/or image creation and editing tools (e.g., PhotoShop, Creo, etc.) preferred.
  • Demonstrated experience with structured authoring and Extensible Markup Language (XML) or desktop publishing software strongly preferred.
  • Familiarity with Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) system or Content Management System (CMS) preferred.
  • Ability to speak a second language is preferred.
