About The Position

In this role, you will support a high-performance computing organization by transforming deeply technical systems into documentation people actually use. Your work will help engineers, operators, and mission users understand, deploy, and sustain critical software and infrastructure that directly supports national security missions. You will partner closely with developers and technical stakeholders to ensure accuracy, consistency, and usability across the full documentation lifecycle. Schedule and Work Details Location: NBP 135 Schedule: Full time, 40 hours per week Telework: Up to 16 hours per week Clearance: Active Top Secret Clearance with Full Scope Polygraph required

Requirements

  • Active Top Secret Clearance with Full Scope Polygraph required. We do not sponsor clearances.
  • Must be a U.S. Citizen. We do not sponsor visas.
  • Bachelor’s degree in a technical discipline from an accredited college or university and six years of technical writing experience on programs of similar scope and complexity.
  • Four additional years of technical writing experience may be substituted in place of a degree.
  • Strong technical writing experience supporting software and systems engineering programs.
  • Experience preparing operations documentation, user guides, manuals, and technical publications.
  • Ability to research complex technical subject matter and present it clearly to varied audiences.
  • Experience working directly with developers and engineers to produce accurate documentation.
  • Proficiency with Linux CLI terminology to support technical documentation.
  • Experience using documentation tools such as Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Visio, MadCap Flare, and Adobe FrameMaker.
  • Experience using markup languages including HTML, XML, and Markdown.
  • Experience working with Atlassian tools including Jira and Confluence.
  • Experience using Git for source control.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with high attention to detail.

Nice To Haves

  • Familiarity with Agile software development methodologies.
  • Understanding of the software development lifecycle.
  • Experience supporting documentation for cryptologic, analytic, or HPC environments.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain clear, concise technical documentation supporting software products, services, and operational processes.
  • Gather technical input from engineers and subject matter experts and translate complex concepts into user-friendly documentation.
  • Create and update user guides, system operations documentation, installation and configuration guides, training materials, and technical publications.
  • Manage documentation repositories, ensure standards compliance, and support documentation across all phases of development.
  • Prepare briefings and written materials tailored to technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Collaborate with development teams to align documentation with evolving software and system capabilities.
