We are seeking a highly skilled Technical Writer to join our Platform Hosting & Infrastructure Division, supporting a key government customer. This role will focus on developing and maintaining clear, accurate, and comprehensive technical documentation that supports enterprise IT systems, cloud environments, and hosting services. The Technical Writer will work closely with engineers, systems integrators, project managers, and cybersecurity teams to capture technical processes, translate complex information, and ensure documentation meets both customer and corporate standards.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 11 years' experience as a Technical Writer.
  • Bachelor's or Master's Degree.
  • Strong knowledge of IT enterprise environments including Windows/Linux servers, Active Directory, DNS/DHCP, cloud platforms (AWS, Azure), and virtualization technologies.
  • Demonstrated experience producing documentation for enterprise IT systems and government customers.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, Adobe Acrobat, Visio, and collaboration tools (e.g., SharePoint, Confluence, ServiceNow).
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple documentation projects under tight deadlines.
  • Excellent attention to detail, grammar, and document consistency.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience supporting federal government programs or large-scale enterprise IT organizations.
  • Familiarity with Agile/Lean-Agile methodologies and IT Project Management workflows.
  • Experience documenting cybersecurity processes, A&A packages, or compliance standards (NIST, RMF).
  • Basic familiarity with scripts or markup languages (Markdown, HTML, XML, YAML).
  • Certifications such as CPTC (Certified Professional Technical Communicator), PMP, or Agile certifications.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain technical documentation including standard operating procedures (SOPs), system engineering plans, integration guides, design documents, diagrams, training manuals, and customer deliverables.
  • Collaborate with subject matter experts across systems engineering, cybersecurity, integration, and project management teams to gather technical data and ensure accuracy.
  • Translate technical concepts into clear, concise language tailored to technical and non-technical stakeholders, including customer leadership.
  • Create and maintain documentation libraries and repositories (e.g., SharePoint, Confluence, ServiceNow Knowledge Base) to ensure version control and accessibility.
  • Support technical reports, and compliance documentation required for government reviews, audits, and certifications.
  • Ensure all documentation aligns with customer requirements.
  • Standardize templates, style guides, and visual formats across technical resources.
  • Participate in knowledge transfer sessions, cross-training, and Lean-Agile initiatives to document evolving processes and procedures.
  • Support automation teams by capturing processes, scripts, and workflows for repeatability and future reuse.
