About The Position

This position serves as a control point for acquisition/management/writing/editorial control of technical orders and other requested documentation.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree or four (4) years’ work experience as an avionics technician, maintenance technician or technical writer.
• Must have a valid state driver’s license when required by job assignment.
• Must obtain a valid government driver’s license when required by job assignment.
• Must obtain a valid commercial driver's license (CDL) to include hazardous material endorsement when required by job assignment.
• Must obtain the level of Industrial Security Clearance required by the Government.
• Must be physically able to perform duties and responsibilities of the classification.
• Must be able to work with required materials without debilitating irritation to skin, eyes or respiratory system while wearing the required personal protective equipment.

Nice To Haves

• Experience in Adobe Frame Maker, Arbor Text, Adobe Photoshop, and ABBY FineReader preferred.
• Experience desired in writing original Technical Manuals, revisions, changes, supplements, checklists, etc. from source data provided.

Responsibilities

• Write original technical manuals, revisions, changes, and supplements from source data provided by various sources in accordance with applicable, governing Air Force specifications.
• Validate all documents are grammatically correct, clear, and concise, and complete technical documentation.
• Other duties related to Technical Writer/Editor as assigned.
