The Work Develop new or update existing technical documentation IAW customer approved Bibliographies applicable Style Guides, and established work instructions. Capture new work by creating new technical documentation with little to no point of departure and across all programs. Primary task will be to develop new TMs in baselines, countries, and programs where new manuals are needed. Development will include organizing content into a well-organized structure, identify all engineering source data (ECPs/ORDALTS, Weapon Specifications), and populate new document by incorporating data into a clear, concise document. Receives daily tasking from functional Team Leader. Obtains engineering source data (software and hardware) from SharePoint or network drives IAW bibliography. Reviews initial impact provided by review team and is tasked with finding all other impacts. Incorporate engineering source data into authoring database IAW company work instructions and conforming to the style guide. Support review process by incorporating all directed comments. Act as go-to person and SME. Performance expectations will be tied to product quality (as determined by the internal reviews) as the customer requires submission of perfect TMs. You are a dynamic and results-oriented professional with a passion for driving operational excellence and optimizing production processes. Requirements

  • Aegis Weapon System (AWS) maintenance and operational experience with at least one shipboard tour.
  • Hands on experience operating and maintaining multiple AWS elements.
  • Proven AWS system knowledge.
  • Ability to discuss technical and operational concepts related to AWS and Aegis Combat System (ACS).
  • Proven experience and knowledge of AWS and how it interfaces with ACS elements.
  • Ability to convey complex, technical content for TMs that describes the installation, operation, and maintenance of electronic, electrical, mechanical, and other equipment.
  • Must be able to interpret, paraphrase, and rewrite engineering source data into a form suitable for USN.
  • Ability to write with XML editors, primarily FrameMaker and Arbortext.
  • Ability to search, retrieve, update, and store data to SharePoint repositories.
  • Candidate must also possess good interpersonal skills (both for written and oral communications)
  • Ability to adapt to evolving technology
  • Ability to organize effectively, handle multiple tasks simultaneously, and complete tasks on time without daily supervision.
  • Demonstrated excellent written and communication skills.
  • Must be able to work in an environment with a Team Leader as supervisor, taking and following daily direction from functional Team Lead.
  • Must be able to hold up under intense scrutiny by government customer and stay positive, with Can-Do attitude.
  • Must be a US Citizen for consideration.
  • This position requires a government security clearance
