About The Position

We are seeking a qualified Technical Training Instructor to support a premium Automotive OEM at various OEM training facilities in the United States. This is an excellent part-time/project-based opportunity for an individual with a passion for improving the capabilities of professional dealership technicians, especially in the Electric Vehicle (EV) | High Voltage (HV) space. The primary purpose of this role is the assessing and training of OEM Technical Trainers to work safely and properly on EV systems by facilitating and conducting HV Safety Assessments, training other trainers to deliver assessments, and support the product launch of new vehicles through training classes at the various OEM training centers.

Requirements

  • 6 or more years of work experience in automotive technical repair and diagnostics
  • 3 or more years of work experience training OEM dealership technicians
  • Knowledge and experience with electric vehicle technology a plus
  • Professional Certification (OEM Master Technician or ASE Master technician)
  • Ability to read, interpret and explain mechanical drawings and electrical schematics
  • Experience preparing classrooms, workshops, and vehicles for learning
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office (OneDrive, Teams, Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint)
  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent Automotive Technology a plus
  • Must have a valid driver’s license
  • Excellent time management skills

Responsibilities

  • Prepare training workshops and vehicles for experiential learning.
  • Facilitate training workshops for technical trainers, with the goal of improving HV safety work practices and support vehicle product launches.
  • Verify learners’ understanding of the subject matter using competency-based training.
  • Identify additional training needs based on learners’ feedback and assessment of skills.
  • Maintain attendee training records in learning portal as needed.
  • Perform light to medium lifting requirements in repair shop operation management.
  • Ability to travel and train at additional locations, as required.
  • Continually enhance technical instructional facilitation skills, technical knowledge of EV systems, HV safety, and diagnostic technology.
  • Comply with health and safety standards and maintain a safe work environment in the Training Center.
  • Maintain shop cleanliness and follow published 5S standards.
  • Maintain a professional relationship with customers and supplier personnel.
  • Maintain and use equipment in the workshop to operational standard.
  • Take reasonable pre-cautions to protect company vehicles
