We have an opening for a Technical Trainer in the Safety Education and Training Office. In this role, in close collaboration with instructional designers and subject matter experts you will apply learning principles and instructional strategies to design and deliver impactful instructor-led training in support of Environmental, Safety & Health (ES&H) programs, with a primary emphasis on radiation protection training and qualification programs (e.g., Radiological Worker, Radiological Control Technician (RCT), and related technical training, including Health Physicist professional development support). You will also ensure training programs meet applicable Department of Energy (DOE) directives, standards, and the Laboratory’s requirements, and effectively engage a diverse workforce across multiple generations. Training assignments may include support for DOE-regulated radiological training and qualification programs aligned with applicable requirements and guidance (e.g., DOE O 426.2A, DOE-HDBK-1078, DOE-HDBK-1130, and DOE-HDBK-1122). This position is within the Environment, Safety & Health (ES&H) Directorate. This position may offer a hybrid schedule, which includes the flexibility to work from home one or more days per week, after a probationary period. The specifics of the hybrid schedule, including the exact number of days required in the office and virtual work options, may vary based on the needs of the team and the organization. This position will be filled at either level based on knowledge and related experience as assessed by the hiring team. Additional job responsibilities (outlined below) will be assigned if hired at the higher level.
