The System Administrator for the Navy Integrated Training Environment (NITE) plays a critical role in supporting the Navy Enterprise Tactical Training Network (NETTN)-a foundational infrastructure that powers enterprise-wide modeling and simulation applications essential to Navy readiness and warfighter training. This position involves hands-on administration, maintenance, and cybersecurity defense of client and server systems across the enterprise. The ideal candidate will work both independently and collaboratively to ensure system reliability, security compliance, and operational excellence. Requirements

  • 3 years relevant experience with Bachelors in related field; 1 year relevant experience with Masters in related field; or High School Diploma or equivalent and 7 years relevant experience.
  • Candidate must be a U.S. Citizen
  • Candidate must have a current or Active DoD Secret clearance (must be maintained)
  • Candidate must have a CompTIA Security+ CE or equivalent/higher-level certification (required) to meet DoD 8570.1-M and SECNAV M-5239.2 requirements at the Information Assurance Technician Level II (IAT-II)
  • Candidate must have experience in a hybrid Windows/RHEL/VMWare environment
  • Candidate must have experience operating Global Command and Control System - Joint (GCCS-J)
  • Candidate must have experience operating LMMT
  • Candidate must have experience operating Theater Battle Management Core System (TBMCS)

Nice To Haves

  • Complete periodic Cyber IT/CS training as required to maintain the minimum Cyber IT/CSWF scoped continuing education units annually per calendar year.
  • Complete CSWF training as required.
  • Microsoft OS experience

Responsibilities

  • Administer and maintain Windows Server environments (2016/2019), Active Directory, and Group Policy Objects (GPOs)
  • Configure DHCP reservations, manage DNS settings, and support release upgrades
  • Apply patches and implement DoD Security Technical Implementation Guides (STIGs) across systems
  • Monitor performance and troubleshoot Tier 2 technical issues across Windows and Linux platforms
  • Author and maintain Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and provide training to junior personnel
  • Support virtualized environments using VMware and Virtual Desktop Infrastructure (VDI) technologies
  • Collaborate with cybersecurity teams to ensure compliance with DoD security standards
  • Interface with internal stakeholders to manage customer needs and prioritize technical tasks
