About The Position

The Tech Support Advisor is responsible for providing technical and application support, as well as technical training, to TEC customers, external TEC Sales representatives, and internal TEC Sales support teams. The responsibilities outlined for this role are not exhaustive and may evolve based on organizational needs. In addition to core technical support duties, this position will also include facilities maintenance responsibilities to support the operational needs of the Libertyville location.

Requirements

Complete understanding of HVACR systems and applications.
Understanding of refrigerant pipe design.
Must have good public relations skills.
Computer skills; Microsoft Office suite, Excel, Microsoft Outlook, some PIC programming knowledge.
Well organized.
Team oriented.
Exceptional problem-solving skills.
3-year Trade school degree in HVACR, or completion of a union apprentice program in the HVACR environment.
10 years’ experience in the HVACR industry related to service and installation.

Responsibilities

Maintain a comprehensive working knowledge of the technical aspects of all Heating, Ventilation, and Air Conditioning equipment distributed by TEC.
Provide technical and application support to TEC customers through phone assistance and on‑site job visits.
Deliver technical and application support to both inside and outside TEC Sales teams.
Support the TEC Parts Division by providing accurate and timely technical guidance.
Monitor the overall structural and operational soundness of the TEC Libertyville facility.
Coordinate and oversee all contracted service visits, including roof, structural, HVAC, and safety‑related inspections or repairs.
Assist the store manager with the operation and troubleshooting of the burglar alarm system.
Maintain fire suppression system records and ensure all scheduled inspections are completed and properly documented.
