  • Physical Stamina: Climbing (ladders, scaffolding), lifting (up to 50 lbs), bending, working at heights
  • Willingness to work outdoors in various weather, confined spaces, and around heavy equipment
  • Ability to wear required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
  • Engineering Degree or 10 years of experience in instrumentation.
  • 10 years’ experience working with customers on troubleshooting analytical equipment
  • 10 years’ field experience in analytical products, types or instrumentation.
  • 5 years’ experience working in programs regarding communication to analytical equipment

Responsibilities

  • Partner with Technical Support team to acquire training and practical experience on the assigned line of products.
  • Collaborate with customers in proportion to the acquisition of knowledge and experience.
  • Research problems for and with the Technical Support Engineers, conveying answers to customers when appropriate.
  • Acquire and maintain a current knowledge of technology and hardware applicable to the analytical line of products.
  • Travel on “field service” trips to customer sites to identify and resolve problems individually or in partnership.
  • Identify and reporting potential quality problem in service or products to the TAC (Technical Assistance Center) manager.
  • A Technical Support Engineer will oversee all work and training for a specified project.
  • Provide uncompromising quality to all work processes in designated area of responsibility.
  • Mentoring of the less experienced technical specialist to include knowledge sharing, training, etc.
  • Effectively communicate and collaborate with various departments in order to troubleshoot items and complete project.
  • Assist in developing training programs for new hires and refresher training for existing personnel
  • Shares responsibility for individual field service personnel utilization
  • Perform routine preventive maintenance and accurate calibrations on various analytical instruments
  • Diagnose and repair failures in instrumentation, control loops, and analyzer shelters, ensuring minimal downtime.
  • Install, test, and support the startup of new analyzer systems and modifications.
  • Maintain detailed records, update technical data, close work orders (often in systems like SAP), and generate reports.
  • Adhere strictly to HSE (Health, Safety, Environment) regulations, perform Job Loss Analyses (JLA), and ensure compliance with environmental standards.
  • Work closely with plant engineers, control room operators, and maintenance teams to optimize performance and reliability.
