The HLA Lab Technical Specialist II serves as a subject matter expert in histocompatibility and immunogenetics testing. This role provides advanced technical oversight, ensures compliance with regulatory standards, and supports quality assurance initiatives within the HLA laboratory. The position requires collaboration with laboratory leadership, technical staff, and clinical teams to maintain high standards in transplant-related testing. Works with the Technical Specialist Coordinator and the lab management team to provide direction for the technical operation of the laboratory, including operation, maintenance and troubleshooting of laboratory instruments and assays. Validates and documents operational changes using the test life cycle process (TLCP). Provides direction for operational workflow and serves as an expert resource for the work unit. Responsibilities also include addressing customers concerns, developing and implementing new tests and services according to the Mayo Quality System Essentials. Completes other projects or assignments as assigned. This position is not eligible for visa sponsorship with the exception of the TN visa classification; Also, Mayo Clinic DOES NOT participate in the F-1 STEM OPT extension program
