About The Position

Peraton is seeking a Technical Solution Lead to support the NOAA AWIPS program - the mission-critical system used by National Weather Service forecasters nationwide to track storms, analyze real-time weather data, and issue alerts that protect lives and property. AWIPS supports more than 150 forecast offices and national centers, making it essential to delivering fast, reliable, and accurate weather information to the public. This position is hybrid. Must be local to one of the following Peraton facilities: Melbourne, FL, Aurora, CO, Herndon, VA, San Antonio, TX, Houston, TX, Omaha, NE, Huntsville, AL, King of Prussia, PA, or Silver Spring, MD. What You'll Do: Lead overall technical implementation. Oversee technical design, development, and implementation of system services. Ensures system scalability, interoperability, and security compliance (DevSecOps). Leads cloud migration efforts using Agile principles in accordance with the requirements. Oversee the design and build of CI/CD pipeline configurations to orchestrate provisioning and deployment of mission critical systems. Generate quantifiable requirements based on customer description, system planning and design, and acquisition logistics. Ensure requirements comply with customer requirements and government standards through formal verification methods. Establish and coordinate development of standards, practices, and procedures as related to the overall product development. Translate high level product development strategies into system requirement specifications and work with multi-disciplined engineering teams to develop lower-level detailed requirements. Serve as a key contributor on the program team - Consult with management, customers, and external contractors regarding the project schedule, resources, plans, designs, and implementations. Work with other contractor teams to ensure interfaces and performances are met.

Requirements

  • 12 years of experience, may have management experience
  • Experience in overseeing technical design, development, and implementation of system services
  • Experience working in a Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe) environment
  • Proficient with Atlassian Tool Suite
  • Experience with on-prem to cloud migrations
  • Expertise in solution design and development, vendor interaction, and enterprise application support
  • Proven experience in managing relationships with vendors/consultants, team members, and customers
  • Established project management skills
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a Public Trust

Nice To Haves

  • Prior experience supporting NOAA programs.
  • Experience with VMware or virtualization technologies
  • Experience with Microsoft Windows and various Linux OSs
  • Experience in software or systems testing
