About The Position

DeepSig is defining the future of wireless communications by merging deep learning with the Radio Access Network (RAN). We are seeking an experienced Technical Lead to architect and drive the development of our next-generation AI-native RAN. In this role, you will lead the design of software-defined RAN systems that leverage OCUDU, NVIDIA’s AI Aerial platform, and DeepSig’s OmniPHY and OmniSIG technologies. You will bridge the gap between advanced research and production engineering, solving the hardest problems in 5G and 6G: applying neural networks to hard-real-time signal processing workloads.

Requirements

  • Education: Master’s or Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field
  • Experience: 5+ years in software engineering within high-performance signal processing or wireless systems
  • Leadership: Demonstrated ability to lead technical teams, mentor junior engineers, and manage complex architectural decisions
  • Coding Expertise: Expert-level proficiency in C++ (specifically for performance-critical/real-time systems) and Python
  • Systems Knowledge: Strong understanding of Linux systems programming, memory management, and multi-threading/concurrency

Nice To Haves

  • Wireless Standards: Expert knowledge of 5G NR architecture, PHY/MAC layers, Split 7.2x fronthaul, and 3GPP Release 15–17 standard
  • AI-RAN & Simulation: Familiarity with neural receivers, AI-driven schedulers, and link-level simulation using NVIDIA Sionna
  • Industry Presence: Track record of bridging Telco and Cloud cultures; active participation in O-RAN or 3GPP working groups
  • GPU Acceleration: Deep experience with CUDA, PTX, and the NVIDIA Aerial SDK (cuBB, cuPHY)
  • DevOps/Cloud/CICD: Experience with modern tools and best practices

Responsibilities

  • System Architecture: Lead the architectural definition and design of AI-RAN systems, integrating neural receivers (OmniPHY) into the NVIDIA Aerial and OCUDU ecosystems to enhance spectral efficiency and link performance
  • High-Performance Engineering: Drive the transition of algorithms from simulation (Python/Sionna) into high-performance, latency-critical production code (Modern C++/CUDA)
  • Technical Leadership: Mentor a team of software engineers and researchers; establish engineering best practices for CI/CD, code reviews, and automated testing to ensure carrier-grade reliability
  • Optimization & Latency: Own the performance profile of the software stack. Optimize physical layer (L1) functions on embedded and GPU platforms to meet strict microsecond-level 5G timing constraints
  • Cloud-Native Integration: Oversee the deployment of RAN functions within containerized environments (Docker/Kubernetes), ensuring seamless orchestration across Edge and Cloud infrastructure
  • Strategic Collaboration: Act as the primary technical liaison with partners (NVIDIA, OCUDU) and industry bodies (AI-RAN Alliance, O-RAN Alliance, 3GPP) to align our roadmap with evolving standards

Benefits

  • We offer competitive salaries and benefits, an employee stock option grant program, an environment where we are excited to be transforming and disrupting how signal processing is done with AI/ML, a welcoming and inclusive environment, a flexible schedule, and a great work / life balance.
