About The Position

Emerald Energy & Exploration is seeking a Technical Services Supervisor to lead the day-to-day operations of our Technical Services division, with a focus on pipeline integrity, corrosion control, and cathodic protection. This position is the senior role within the Technical Services division and will oversee field personnel, manage client relationships, and ensure safe, efficient, and compliant project delivery. While direct pipeline integrity or cathodic protection experience is highly valued, we encourage applicants with relevant experience in similar industries—such as utilities, industrial construction, corrosion services, inspection, or other field-based technical services—who are willing to learn and grow into this specialty.

Requirements

  • Experience (typically 5+ years) in a field-based technical environment, such as: Pipeline integrity, corrosion control, or cathodic protection, utility, energy, industrial construction, inspection, or similar services
  • Demonstrated experience supervising field crews or technical teams (e.g., survey, inspection, construction, maintenance, or similar).
  • Familiarity with or willingness to learn: Cathodic protection systems (anodes, rectifiers, test stations, etc.), integrity or inspection methods (CIS, DCVG/ACVG, coating inspections, or analogous techniques in related industries).
  • Experience managing client relationships and resolving operational issues.
  • Proven ability to ensure accurate timekeeping, expense control, and ethical billing in a project-based environment.
  • Strong leadership, communication, organizational, and follow-through skills.
  • Ability to work on-site in Corbin, KY and travel to project sites and client locations as required.

Nice To Haves

  • AMPP/NACE certifications (e.g., CP1, CP2, CP3) or other corrosion/integrity credentials.
  • Prior supervisor/manager experience in a technical services, pipeline, utility, or corrosion-focused organization.
  • Familiarity with PHMSA regulations, API/AMPP standards, and safety program implementation.
  • Experience with ERP/field service systems, and digital data collection tools.

Responsibilities

  • Lead daily operations for Technical Services projects, maintaining clear visibility into workloads, schedules, and priorities.
  • Ensure projects are properly planned, staffed, and executed in accordance with SOWs, safety standards, and company procedures.
  • Supervise Technical Services staff, enforce company policies, and support performance evaluations, coaching, and training.
  • Oversee timesheets and expense submissions for accuracy and timeliness; promote ethical billing practices and reduce unbillable labor.
  • Monitor division KPIs (utilization, timeliness, data quality, safety, and margins) and recommend adjustments when performance falls below targets.
  • Serve as primary point of contact for Technical Services clients; meet with key clients regularly to review performance, address concerns, and discuss upcoming needs.
  • Provide operational input on new Technical Services opportunities, geographic expansion, and service enhancements; support RFP/RFQ responses as needed.
  • Identify and manage division-specific risks; ensure compliance with applicable regulations and standards (including PHMSA and relevant API/AMPP/NACE standards, as experience allows).
  • Coordinate with HR on staffing needs and with IT/Operations on effective use of company systems and workflows.
