Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering (preferred) or Technical degree or related field (or equivalent technical training/experience)
  • 3 years minimum related experience, including customer-facing and/or field service
  • Experience in field service, technical support, or a related role
  • Familiarity with Firmware/Assembly code or low-level programming for embedded systems
  • Familiarity with C/C++ or higher-level programming for embedded systems

Nice To Haves

  • Familiarity with rotating equipment (motors, drives, clutches, pumps, or similar)
  • Familiarity with embedded systems, PLCs, and industrial control hardware
  • Strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skills
  • Experience reading and interpreting electrical/mechanical schematics
  • Excellent communication skills for customer interaction and technical reporting
  • Ability to work independently in field environments with minimal supervision
  • Experience with oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, and other diagnostic tools

Responsibilities

  • Install, commission, and maintain equipment at customer sites
  • Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, and control system issues
  • Utilize software knowledge to:
  • Update embedded code (firmware, assembly code) for equipment calibration, optimization, or bug fixes
  • Collaborate with peers on root cause analysis of software/hardware issues
  • Train customers on operation, preventive maintenance, and troubleshooting procedures
  • Document service activities, including field reports, code modifications, and parts usage
  • Provide feedback from field issues to engineering and product development teams
  • Ensure compliance with safety standards and site regulations
  • Up to 50% travel domestically and internationally (as required, sometimes on short notice) to support customer installations and service calls
