Join our team at Thermo Fisher Scientific as a Technical Sales Specialist (TSS) for the Environmental and Food Safety group (EFS), where you'll play a critical role in driving revenue growth, supporting account strategy, and delivering technical solutions across the Central US and Canada. In this role, you will partner closely with Account Managers and cross-functional internal teams to identify opportunities, position differentiated solutions and support the full sales process. You'll represent our portfolio of scientific instruments and solutions, working closely with EFS customers to understand their needs and deliver impactful, application-driven solutions. This position is a key component of the EFS market strategy and is essential to driving growth, strengthening customer relationships, and expanding Thermo Fisher’s presence in a rapidly evolving market. How will you get here? Education Bachelor’s degree or higher in Chemistry, Environmental Science, Food Science, or a related scientific discipline (or equivalent experience) Experience 5+ years' experience with analytical instruments, preferably within Environmental or Food Safety Previous experience in technical sales, applications, service, or customer-facing technical roles preferred Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Strong understanding of analytical workflows and applications relevant to the EFS market Excellent presentation and communication skills, with ability to explain complex technical concepts Demonstrated success in meeting or exceeding sales targets Strong collaboration, organizational, and time-management skills Experience using CRM systems (e.g., Salesforce) and Microsoft Office Suite Must reside in the Central Region of the US, preferably the Chicago area Willingness and ability to travel within the assigned territory Experience delivering technical demonstrations and training Compensation and Benefits The salary range estimated for this position based in Illinois is $83,300.00–$124,925.00. This position may also be eligible to receive a variable annual bonus based on company, team, and/or individual performance results in accordance with company policy.
