Phase 1: Technical Sales & Customer Engagement Customer Relations & Sales Support - Serve as the primary point of contact for customer inquiries, orders, and technical questions. - Provide detailed product information, specifications, and application guidance. - Prepare accurate and timely quotes, proposals, and order confirmations. - Manage the full order cycle — from quote generation to delivery follow-up. - Maintain and grow relationships with existing customers while supporting new business opportunities. Technical Support & Application Guidance - Interpret customer requirements and recommend suitable products or solutions. - Read and work with technical drawings, specifications, and material data. - Collaborate with engineering and production to confirm manufacturability, lead times, and custom product options. - Provide troubleshooting assistance and after-sales support. Sales Growth & Business Development - Identify upselling and cross-selling opportunities within existing accounts. - Support outbound prospecting and lead follow-up. - Assist outside sales representatives with quotations and technical support. Phase 2: Site Operations Leadership Transition Plant Operations Management - Shadow the current Site Manager to learn all aspects of site operations including production, scheduling, maintenance, quality, and materials management. - Ensure production goals are met safely, on time, and within budget. - Monitor and improve key performance metrics such as throughput, scrap rates, downtime, and on-time delivery. Safety & Compliance - Maintain a strong safety culture by enforcing company policies and ensuring compliance with OSHA and environmental regulations. - Participate in safety training, inspections, and incident investigations. Continuous Improvement - Identify and implement process improvements to increase efficiency, reduce waste, and enhance product quality. - Apply lean tools (5S, visual management, standard work) suitable for a small plant environment. - Support or lead small-scale capital and improvement projects. People Leadership - Begin managing small teams or projects to build leadership experience. - Partner with HR to recruit, train, and retain skilled employees. - Promote teamwork, accountability, and continuous learning. Maintenance & Equipment Reliability - Learn to oversee preventive maintenance schedules and ensure equipment uptime. - Work closely with maintenance and engineering staff to troubleshoot and resolve equipment issues. Financial & Planning Responsibilities - Support site budget management and cost control. - Collaborate with supply chain and procurement to ensure material availability and inventory accuracy. - Provide regular performance updates to senior leadership.
