About The Position

VES, LLC is seeking an experienced Technical Sales professional with a strong understanding of U.S. Army operational environments, embedded systems, and Command-and-Control (C2) applications. This role focuses on identifying, shaping, and supporting opportunities across Army programs, OEM partners, and key technology vendors. Ideal candidates will bring a blend of technical depth, customer-facing experience, and comfort operating within Army acquisition pathways. This is a hybrid position located in Aberdeen Proving Ground, MD. ABOUT VES, LLC We are a small business headquartered out of Aberdeen Proving Ground, MD. We have grown up to approximately 80 employees, many of them getting our footprints established in other areas of the United States. Established in 2014, our core competencies are the development of custom government off the Shelf (GOTS) infrastructure solutions, integrating mission command systems, and prototyping emerging technologies for use in the Army tactical architecture. We are a company built entirely of engineers, focused completely on solving the DoD's hardest software systems integration challenges. Many software government contractors only hire to fill a slot and then release the person with the contract time is up. Requirements

  • Experience with U.S. Army embedded systems, platform electronics, mission command / C2 systems, and tactical networking technologies.
  • Strong understanding of Army tactical architectures, operational workflows, and system-of-systems integration challenges.
  • Familiarity with Army acquisition processes, program structures, fielding organizations, and purchasing pathways.
  • Demonstrated ability to work with OEMs, hardware suppliers, and software technology partners.
  • Ability to communicate technical concepts to mixed technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Proven track record and comfort working independently in a customer-facing, travel-intensive role.
  • Active Secret clearance or ability to obtain; U.S. citizenship required for clearance eligibility .
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Information Technology, Systems Management, or a related technical field (or equivalent experience).
  • 7+ years of experience supporting U.S. Army programs, embedded systems, C2/mission command systems, or tactical networking technologies.
  • Experience working with Army program offices, OEMs, or defense technology partners.
  • Familiarity with Army acquisition processes and program structures.
  • Demonstrated experience in a customer-facing technical sales, business development, or systems integration role.
  • Ability to translate operational requirements into technical solutions.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a Security Clearance.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills with respect to all the above requirements.

Nice To Haves

  • Prior experience supporting Army Program Executive Offices (PEOs), PM offices, DEVCOM, AFC, and operational units.
  • Background in systems engineering, DoW C5ISR field support, platform integration, or mission command architecture design/deployment/support.
  • Existing relationships within Army acquisition and/or vehicle OEM communities.
  • Proven sales track record in hardware and software within the DoW.
  • Extensive travel experience, especially with US Army and DoW facilities, posts, training centers.

Responsibilities

  • Engage directly with Army stakeholders to understand mission needs, operational use cases, and technical gaps across tactical formations.
  • Support business development and sales activities tied to embedded systems, vehicle electronics, mission command software, and C2 integration.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with U.S. DoW program offices, user communities, test sites, and engineering organizations.
  • Collaborate with OEMs, hardware integrators, and partner software vendors to align solutions with customer requirements.
  • Represent the company during onsite visits, demonstrations, technical interchange meetings, and industry events.
  • Translate operational requirements into product features, partnership strategies, and sales opportunities.
  • Contribute to proposals, capability briefings, demonstrations, and technical discussions.
  • Travel up to 50% , with emphasis on visits to Aberdeen Proving Ground (APG), Detroit Arsenal Michigan, NGC2 unit locations, USSOCOM Tampa Florida , DC Metro area, CONUS industry tradeshows, and OEM facilities.
