About The Position

The Technical Sales Engineer serves as a critical technical resource within the sales process, acting as the interface between customers, Product Lifecycle Management (PLM), and Sales Operations. This role requires a strong technical background, attention to detail, and effective written and verbal communication abilities.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in technical discipline; Engineering, Physics, or Computer Science preferred.
  • 5+ years of experience as a technical subject matter expert with large integrated systems. Experience in technical sales/applications for X-ray inspection, security systems, or systems integration/networking is ideal.
  • Strong presentation and written communication skills.
  • Willingness and ability to travel up to 50% in support of customer sales opportunities, including worldwide travel.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with AutoCAD, modeling, or simulation software is desirable.
  • Proficiency in a foreign language (French, Arabic, Spanish, Portuguese, Cantonese) is an asset.

Responsibilities

  • Respond to functional and technical aspects of RFIs/RFPs, including compliance matrices and technical proposal content.
  • Conduct detailed site surveys and define optimal system configurations to meet customer and application requirements.
  • Collaborate with Sales Operations and other stakeholders to create compelling proposals.
  • Identify non-compliant items in proposals and work with Sales Applications Engineer to determine appropriate solutions.
  • Support the development and maintenance of technical product specifications in partnership with Engineering and PLM.
  • Maintain a high level of expertise in relevant industries and applications.
  • Develop demonstration of assets to effectively showcase product capabilities.
  • Manage demonstration equipment and ensure operational readiness.
  • Design and execute evaluations to assess product effectiveness against customer requirements.
  • Demonstrate flexibility and adaptability to changing plans and priorities.
