About The Position

The Technical Quality Assurance Inspector III is responsible for performing inspections of manufacturing goods during and at the completion of the manufacturing process. This role involves conducting visual, detailed dimensional and electrical inspections of individual items, sub-assemblies or final system assemblies. The inspector will interpret complex prints, manufacturing drawings, diagrams, wire cards, and lists to approve or reject in-process or final assemblies, ensuring compliance with stringent industry standards and certifications. May take part in supporting root cause analysis of non-conformances and support continuous improvement activities. In this role, you will perform inspections of manufacturing goods during and at the end of the manufacturing process, certify completed products, and conduct detailed dimensional and electrical inspections of individual items, sub-assemblies, or final system assemblies. You will interpret complex prints, manufacturing drawings, diagrams, wire cards, and lists to approve or reject in-process or final assemblies while ensuring compliance with quality standards, specifications, and industry certifications. Additionally, you will document inspection results, maintain accurate records, and communicate inspection findings to relevant stakeholders and management. You will assist in drafting work instructions and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), utilize Microsoft Office suite tools for documentation and reporting, and develop and maintain proficiency in industry standards and certifications, including NASA and IPC. Furthermore, you will provide guidance and mentorship to Level 1-2 inspectors and support internal and external audits. Requirements

  • Typically 4+ years of relevant experience.
  • Certifications: Progress towards multiple NASA and IPC industry standard certifications.
  • Completion of basic GD&T training.
  • Understanding of technical schematics and documents.
  • Understanding of electrical wiring concepts.
  • Functional use and knowledge of Microsoft Office suite tools, particularly PowerPoint and Excel.
  • Ability to understand and interpret geometric dimensioning and tolerance.
  • Experience drafting work instructions and SOPs.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor's degree in a related technical field.
  • Advanced certifications in quality assurance or inspection (e.g., ASQ Certified Quality Technician, Certified Quality Engineer, or Certified Quality Inspector).
  • Working towards Six Sigma or Lean Six Sigma certifications.
  • Proficiency with standard inspection tools and equipment, including hand inspection tools and equipment.
  • Developing statistical process control (SPC) techniques and data analysis.
  • Basic familiarity with non-destructive testing (NDT) methods and equipment.
  • Experience with quality management software and databases, such as SAP QM or similar.
  • Basic knowledge of electrical testing equipment and techniques, including oscilloscopes and multimeters.
  • Experience in a regulated industry, such as aerospace or defense, with an understanding of industry-specific standards and regulations including AS9100.
  • Proven ability to provide technical guidance to Level I & II inspectors.
