About The Position

Spencer Composites, a wholly owned subsidiary of X-Bow Systems, Inc., is seeking a Quality Assurance Specialist/Inspector , responsible for operating coordinate measuring machines and calibrated hand instruments to inspect and measure manufactured parts and components for quality control purposes.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or GED
  • Demonstrate inspector techniques
  • Demonstrates reliability, procedural compliance, and willingness to learn
  • Must possess a valid states driver's license
  • Must be able to work shift work, weekends, holidays, and overtime as required.
  • Familiarity with document control processes and maintaining quality records.
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to find, understand, and organize documents.
  • Excellent attention to detail to ensure compliance.
  • Must be a U.S. Person.
  • Must meet federal government requirements for access to government information; dual citizenship may preclude meeting this requirement.
  • To conform to U.S. Government space technology export regulations, including the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR), you must be a U.S. citizen, a lawful permanent resident of the U.S., a protected individual as defined by 8 U.S.C. 1324b(a)(3), or eligible to obtain the required authorizations from the U.S. Department of State.

Nice To Haves

  • Associate's degree in mechanical engineering technology or related field
  • 5+ years experience operating CMM equipment
  • Proficiency with CMM software (e.g. PC-DMIS, Calypso)
  • Strong knowledge of GD&T principles
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings
  • Attention to detail and strong analytical skills
  • Strong interpersonal communication skills with ability to work with others at all levels of the organization.
  • Ability to work independently on assigned tasks.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for operating coordinate measuring machines to inspect and measure manufactured parts and components for quality control purposes.
  • Set up and operate CMM equipment to perform dimensional measurements of parts
  • Interpret engineering drawings, blueprints and specifications
  • Program CMM software to create measurement routines
  • Conduct inspections and record measurement data
  • Analyze results and identify any deviations from specifications
  • Prepare detailed inspection reports
  • Maintain CMM equipment and calibration records
  • Collaborate with engineering and manufacturing teams on quality issues
  • Perform other related duties as assigned, such as Production support/inspection of received goods.
