TECHNICAL PURCHASING DIRECTOR
About The Position
Leads Technical Procurement Supplier Early Engagement and new technology development. Influences design decisions and risk trade-offs impacting cost and supplier engagement while maintaining quality. Manages complex supplier relationships and agreements, and may lead small to mid-sized teams. Coaches and mentors future procurement leaders globally. Negotiates with project leadership, suppliers, engineers, customers, and technology teams to deliver designs, risk mitigation plans, and coordinated product changes. Collaborates with manufacturing, sourcing, technical leadership, and marketing stakeholders. Engages engineering to identify new supplier and technology needs. Oversees procurement resources to meet deliverables, including prototype and demonstration builds. Develops sourcing strategies for new product programs. Partners with Technical Cost COE, presents issues to leadership, and promotes Operating System and Six Sigma practices.
