Location: Nashville TN or Indianapolis IN - Onsite with flexibility. Travel: up to 25% to include international travel In this role, you will make an impact in the following ways: Leads and supports all Technical Procurement Supplier Early Engagement work and new technology development. Actively influences the design and project risk trade-offs that impact project cost or supplier early engagement without sacrifice of quality expectations. Main focus will include working in business processes of Product Preceding Technology (PPT) and other early product development activity. Provides leadership to complex supplier relationships through supplier agreements required to protect intellectual properties. May coordinate and direct work of technical procurement teams, up to and including direct management of small to mid-sized teams. Coaches and mentors, the future technical procurement leaders across a global business function. Negotiates with project leadership, suppliers, customer teams, product engineers, or technology teams to ensure the delivery of robust prototype and production designs, technical risk mitigation plans, and coordinated deliverables of new or current product change activity. Other important stakeholders of this role include preferred manufacturing, sourcing, technical leadership and marketing teams. Leads the engagement with project teams and engineering to understand needs for new suppliers and technologies and connects engineering with the appropriate sourcing team. For defined projects, manages the procurement resources serving as team members to meet the required procurement deliverables up to and including procurement work to support demonstration or prototype products. Creates and leads management and functional review forums. Drives engagement to establish preliminary new product program sourcing strategies for Product Preceding Technology (PPT) or other projects that are moving to APD. Champions working with the Technical Cost COE to use should and other tools to develop piece price targets for components and product material cost targets. Presents sourcing and procurement issues to corporate leadership; provides thought leadership for addressing issues. Actively promotes and uses Atmus’ fundamental operating mechanisms such as the Atmus Operating System and Six Sigma. Develops, leads, and motivates management staff; sets goals in training and development, performance, and career planning.

Requirements

  • College, university or equivalent degree in a related business field such as supply chain management required; graduate degree in business or related field preferred.
  • Significant experience required, including strategic, leadership, and comprehensive financial competence.

  • Supplier Contract Development - Creates contracts to cover commercial and legal relationship between Atmus and supplier; incorporates commercial requirements and laws of regions, drive consensus amongst stakeholders and develops a mutually agreed and legally approved contract created using a Direct Supplier Supply Agreement (DSA) and the C-Review Process and Negotiations Excellence skill.
  • Supplier Contract Management - Assesses and enforces contractual terms and conditions; monitors key performance indicators throughout the term of the contract to ensure we reach the intended value of the contract; manages supplier delivery of product to Atmus requirements.
  • Supplier Performance Management - Leverages functional roles and responsibilities to appropriately manage supplier performance; negotiates defined metrics and supplier management processes to ensure robust management by all functional stakeholders; assimilates cross-functional, cross-site performance data across geographies; ensures suppliers awareness to performance deficiencies and communicates Atmus expectations relative to continuous improvement.
  • Supply Base Risk Management - Minimizes supplier risk to Atmus by proactively mitigating risks through use of risk analysis tools and risk mitigation playbook to manage three key risks including continuity of supply, reputational risk, and risk to our margins of parts by minimizing disruption and services throughout supply chain; manages and leverages supplier selection and dual sourcing opportunities as a first line of defense against supplier risk.
