About The Position

The Technical Project Manager (DPG/Standards/Work order specs/Design planning manual) will develop and review distribution design drawings, models, and documentations to ensure alignment with organizational standards and governance requirements.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Management, Engineering, related field or equivalent training and/or experience.
  • 8+ years progressive experience in Designer roles with responsibilities, activities, and tasks/duties in all material aspects which require substantially the same levels of functional knowledge and skills to perform.
  • Must have experience with New Business projects.
  • 3+ years of senior level Designer, project management or lead experience.
  • Advanced demonstrable knowledge of, and experience with, the interpretation and application of engineering principles, Overhead, Underground and Gas Standards, Design Manuals, Service Planning Manuals, Service Guides and CPUC Rules, as required.
  • Advanced proficiency in AutoCAD, Geographical Information Systems, required.
  • Advanced proficiency in O-Calc Pro, SAP, DPSS, CISCO, word processing, spreadsheets and Outlook required.
  • 1-2 years experience creating custom gas and electric AUD builds for utilities.
  • Strong computer skills and proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook).
  • Ability to quickly learn and develop a strong working knowledge of various software applications.
  • Highly organized with strong attention to detail.
  • Strong customer service skills and proactive follow-up (internal and external)
  • Proficient in oral and written communication.

Nice To Haves

  • Project or construction management certification or equivalent is preferred.
  • Knowledge of SAP (preferred).

Responsibilities

  • Support the creation, maintenance, and enforcement of technical design standards, policies, and procedures.
  • Collaborate with the technical advisors to assess design compliance and recommend improvement.
  • Provide technical input to the design QA/QC process.
  • Support training initiatives by developing supporting materials.
