Fiber Materials Inc. (FMI) is a leading solutions provider of high temperature materials and composites for over 50 years, serving the Department of Defense and NASA. Their manufacturing facility in Maine focuses on multidirectional reinforced Carbon/Carbon (C/C) and Ceramic Matrix Composites (CMCs) used in high-temperature components like thermal protection systems, re-entry vehicle nose tips, and rocket motor throats and nozzles. These materials are utilized in initiatives such as the Orion Multi-Purpose Crew Vehicle, NASA's Mars 2020 mission heat shield, missile programs, airfoils in commercial and military jet engines, and lightweight armor for U.S. military ground vehicles. FMI is seeking a proactive, motivating Project Manager to join the Research & Technology Advanced Programs team. This role involves managing the technical execution of engineering projects to deliver advanced high temperature material solutions for hot structures and thermal protection systems in Defense and Space applications. The Project Manager will define, bid, and manage work packages, ensure proper resource allocation, forecast and track cost and schedule performance, and communicate effectively with the engineering team, R&T leadership, and customers. The successful candidate will ensure internal process compliance and exceed customer expectations. This role requires a technical education or experience in a technical or manufacturing environment, strong leadership and motivational skills, excellent communication, and demonstrated project management abilities. As a team leader, the individual will execute tasks with reduced oversight, possess high personal integrity, and promote company values and safety culture.
