About The Position

An experienced Project Manager excited to join our team in supporting a government client in Alexandria, Virginia. You will be responsible for managing projects related to information technology infrastructure; will be required to plan and manage development schedules; work closely with the federal lead & design teams; and communicate timely status/progress to multiple stakeholders.

Requirements

Bachelor's degree or equivalent
PMP Certification
Experience managing projects in one or more technical areas such as Cloud, Networking, Virtual Desktops, Mobile Device Management, Systems Administration (Unix, Linux, etc.), Database (Sybase, Oracle, Postgres, etc.). In the absence of the specific examples above, demonstration of an otherwise technical background in project management is required.
Demonstrated ability to develop comprehensive project schedules
Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite, and Microsoft Project
Strong verbal and written communications skills
Dedication to client satisfaction
Ability to obtain and maintain a Public Trust

Experience managing project risks
Experience with multiple infrastructure development methodologies
Experience in a consulting environment managing projects for multiple external clients
ITIL Certification
Solid organizational skills including attention to detail and multi-tasking

Responsibilities

Create and maintain comprehensive project documentation such as Project Management Plans, Business Cases, ROMs, LOEs, and Project Scope documents
Leverage support from all levels of leadership (including Executive Management)
Ensure that all projects are delivered on-time, within scope and within budget
Coordinate resource availability and allocation
Develop detailed project schedules to monitor and track progress
Manage changes to the project scope, project schedule, and project costs using appropriate verification techniques
Measure project performance using appropriate tools and techniques
Report and escalate to management as needed
Successfully manage the relationship with the client and all stakeholders
Perform risk management to minimize project risks
Oversee project development cycle, which includes planning, testing, and deployment activities.
Identify system needs, forecast system requirements, and provide recommendations and priorities for improvements and alternatives.
Provide technical guidance to client mangers and staff to ensure appropriate resources, communication and processes are in place.
Participate in the Change Control Board (CCB) and monitor program/system owner compliance with the Change Management Plan and Charter.
Ensure that all project goals are accomplished according to specifications and business objectives.
