About The Position

We are looking for an experienced and driven Technical Project Lead with 8+ years of experience to join our AI applications team. This is a fully remote position for candidates in the continental U.S., with work hours aligned to the Eastern Standard Time (EST) zone. You will be instrumental in the entire software development lifecycle, from initial design to final delivery, creating AI-powered software products that aid military commanders and business leaders in making mission-critical decisions. Requirements

• Experience : 8+ years of experience in software development, including design, coding, testing, and delivery.
• Core Skills : You should have mastery in object-oriented design and programming, as well as knowledge of design patterns and algorithmic analysis.
• Programming Languages : Proficiency in Python is a must, experience with other languages such as JavaScript, TypeScript, or C++ is useful but not critical.
• Work Environment : Experience working in a small, remote team environment is preferred.
• Government Clearance : You must be a U.S. citizen and eligible for a S. government security clearance (Secret Clearance). A conditional offer of employment is required before you can begin the security clearance process.

Nice To Haves

• AI/ML : Exposure to AI and/or Machine Learning technologies is a plus.
• GenAI : Experience building applications leveraging LLMs as a core component
• Specialized Knowledge : Experience with discrete event simulation, geospatial and/or temporal databases, and performing scientific evaluations and comparisons is highly valued.
• Google Cloud Platform : Experience using and deploying technologies onto GCP, existing GCP credentials, and familiarity with VertexAI.
• Technical Familiarity : Familiarity with technologies such as Docker, Node, and REST APIs is a bonus. Experience with database systems such as Firebase and PostgreSQL.

Responsibilities

• Technical Project Leadership : You will be the technical lead for 1-2 projects and will need to help design, architect and develop its codebase. In addition, you will lead and mentor junior and mid-level developers, providing technical guidance and ensuring project goals are met.
• Customer Management : You will act as a key technical point of contact for clients, translating customer requirements into technical specifications and ensuring the delivered solutions align with their mission needs. This is not a project manager role but requires a strong customer-facing presence.
• Project Owner : You will manage your project's agile development cycle including creating, tracking and managing issues, reviewing merge requests and handling day-to-day oversight of your development team. You will report to the program owner candidly about progress, potential issues, and roadblocks.
